The Osceola County Emergency Medical Service is accepting applications for a full-time EMS Lieutenant.
Under the supervision of the EMS director or designee, this person will serve as part of a professional medical crew responsible for initial patient assessment and treatment in emergent and non-emergent pre-hospital patient care settings. Supervise day-to-day EMS operations, including employee schedules/activates, vehicle maintenance, supply levels, quality assurance and employee supervision, evaluation and discipline. Must act appropriately using his/her own discretion to maintain control and organization of pre-hospital scenes while following written/verbal Medical Control protocols/orders. Performs initial and on-going assessment of each patient, collects data on patients for making accurate diagnosis and implements appropriate medical procedures per medical protocols, collects data as well as for billing purposes. Collaborates with other health care professionals and participates in educational processes.
