A minimum of 2 years of accounting experience (at least one year of public accounting experience is preferred). successful completion of the probationary period of employment, be physically able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.
Also:
Be able to read, comprehend, and interpret federal and state rules, regulations, & guidelines including but not limited to 2 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Part 200, "Uniform Administrative Requirements, Cost Principles, & Audit Requirements for Federal Awards", and
2 CFR Part 1103, "Interim Grants & Cooperative Agreements Implementation of Guidance in 2 CFR Part 200" (79 Federal Register 76047, December 19, 2014).
Prospective Candidates should also:
Have a thorough working knowledge of standard accounting theory, principles, and practices;
Have a thorough knowledge of statutory & other legally mandated standards governing public sector accounting & auditing practices & financial accountability, including GAAP & GASB;
Possess problem solving skills;
Have the ability to make decisions in accordance with laws & regulations governing the accounts maintained;
Have the ability to analyze and evaluate financial data & other information to prepare reports and recommendations;
Have the ability to effectively communicate the facts of financial analysis in written & oral report form;
Must be able to conduct oneself with tact and courtesy;
Must be able to effectively speak, write, & understand the English language;
Must possess a valid drivers license and have an operable insured automobile for authorized travel.
