Read more at www.dsv.comLocation: Grand Rapids, MIJob Posting Title: Logistics Technician, LTL Processing SpecialistSUMMARYThe Logistics Technician, LTL Processing Specialist works closely with internal and external customers to ensure accurate data entry of LTL shipments and process and audit LTL freight bills.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES•Applies Industry terms and concepts. o Reading Common Carrier tariffs, accessorial charges, FAK’s and freight classes as defined by the NMFC.•Uses appropriate company tools to research and verify classification of LTL shipments.•Tracks and Traces pick-up and delivery of LTL shipments when EDI is not available.•Schedules pick-up directly with carriers when EDI is not appropriate.•Provides Customer Service to both internal and external customers by applying interpersonal communication techniques.•Investigates and resolves customer inquiries concerning billing or credits memos.•Compiles data, computes fees and charges, and reviews paperwork to ensure completeness.•A sort, records, proofs, and prepares items for payment and invoicing purposes.•Organize and prepare relevant records for imaging and archiving.•Uses computer to enter, access and retrieve customer data. Use alpha and numeric keyboarding skills to perform data entry.•Uses basic business math skills to compute record and verify financial transactions and maintain records.•Examines pertinent information to determine accuracy of customers' account, and reconcile any discrepancies in records and accounts.•Notifies customers and appropriate personnel of findings, adjustments, and recommendations, such as credit to customers' accounts or adjustment to customers' bills.•Performs various clerical duties in accordance with the established office procedures. This may include filing and the operation of general office machines (e.g. fax, copy, and adding).•Motivates and support co-workers, integrate and promote the DSV CLIENT as ONE strategy into daily actions and interactions.OTHER DUTIES•Performs other duties as assignedMINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS (SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES)Education and/or Experience•High School or GED•1 year industry experience, customer service or relevant experience in a related role.Computer Skills•Basic computer skills including Microsoft office proficient.•PC literacy is required.Language Skills•English (reading, writing, verbal)Mathematical Skills•IntermediateOther Skills•Strong Communication skills.•Highly developed organizational and people skills.•Strong communication and presentation skills are essential, as is the ability to function within a group dynamic.•Ability to balance multiple duties at once and possess a high attention to detail.Certificates, Licenses, Registrations or Professional Designations•NonePREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES)•1 year of experience in LTL processing•1 year of experience in Customer ServicePHYSICAL DEMANDSWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee uses his/her hands to handle or feel objects, tools or controls and keyboards and electronic devices; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, or crouch; talk or hear.
