We are looking for a skilled Manufacturing Quality Engineer, who is ready to build their future! Our Reed City plant located just north of Grand Rapids, MI is close enough to the city to enjoy great restaurants, concerts and events and far enough away to really enjoy the great outdoor life Michigan has to offer.
The Quality Engineer will work with the Director of Operations to design, develop, implement and maintain Tubelite's Quality System. The Quality Engineer will help develop appropriate standards, measurement systems and audit procedures. The Quality Engineer will help provide solutions to problems.
•Design, implement and maintain appropriate quality standards and conformance procedures for manufacturing processes, materials and products.
•Develop and initiate standards and methods for inspection, testing and evaluation.
•Develops forms and instructions for recording, evaluating, and reporting quality and reliability data to drive problem solving.
•Establishes enterprise wide problem solving excellence. Utilizes Lean methodologies to facilitate problem solving, root cause analysis and corrective action efforts.
•Establishes program to evaluate precision and accuracy of production equipment and testing, measurement, and analytical equipment and facilities.
•Promote adherence to quality standards and conformance procedures throughout the company via audits, inspections and testing.
•Lead engineering development and utilization of APQP tools and concepts.
•Lead supplier development activities focusing on supplier APQP and corrective actions.
•Integrate all quality activities with Lean Continuous Improvement activities and capably facilitate appropriate Projects, Kaizen, A3's, and Daily Improvement activities.
•BS in Engineering or a related technical discipline and minimum 5 years quality engineering experience in manufacturing environment or CQE and/or CQA certification and minimum proficient in the use of Lean tools and methodology.
•Proficient in the use of statistical analysis techniques and associated software tools.
•Ability to make timely, sound decisions
•Ability to clearly define and communicate technical path determining and resolving quality issues.
Qualifications Strongly Preferred:
•CQE and/or CQA certifications
•Six Sigma Greenbelt or Blackbelt certification
•MS in Engineering or a related technical discipline
•10 years combined experience in quality or lean engineering.
