As we strategize to enhance capacity management, throughput, and clinically focused improvements in response to the pandemic and regular census surges, Mission Control represents an essential tactic and opportunity for Spectrum Health West Michigan.
The Medical Director for Mission Control will partner with their dyad, Director of Mission Control to redesign and reimagine the care provided to patients while decreasing burden to providers and staff and improving relations with the referring provider community.
To further the work of the Mission Control's vision -/"the right patient in the right place at the right time."/,//the objectives for the medical Director will be to:
· Develop standard SHWM Mission Control workflows to ensure access, clinical and compliance success
· Develop, implement, and maintain Physician Triage Officer Program
· Develop collaborative protocols to expedite critical/non-critical transportation: ground, air, internal/external partners
· Monitor mission control for real time discharge and throughput improvements with provider collaboration
· Act as discharge expeditor i.e. OBRA, discharge orders, EHR needs
This is a part time (0.40 FTE) position. The ideal candidate will have current privileges at a Spectrum Hospital and experience working in or with one of the inpatient service lines. Previous process improvement or quality work preferred.
Basic Qualifications:
Education - Bachelor's Degree Doctorate
Experience - 3 years of relevant experience in in clinical setting 3 years of relevant experience in Managed care experience
Licenses -
Physician (MD)
Osteopathic Physician (DO)
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience - Proven experience and evidence of success in effective physician communication and education skills; evaluation of evidence-based standards of care and application of utilization management skills and strategies
