Job Summary
Provides general office, receptionist and clerical assistance that contributes to the day to day operations of the center and adhering to the Samaritas Values of People First, Communication, Quality Service, Stewardship and Innovation.
Duties and Responsibilities
Maintain current knowledge of Samaritas' programs, services and key employees in order to accurately inform and refer persons requesting service and information.
Perform receptionist duties including answering telephone, routing calls and taking messages, greeting and assisting visitors as required.
Perform clerical functions such as email correspondence, word processing/typing, assisting with collating packets and mailings, mail sorting and distribution, copying, faxing, ordering supplies, and other general office duties, as required.
Create and maintain filing systems relevant to office functions.
Vouchering invoices, as requested, on a daily/regular basis.
Provide back up for support staff.
Coordinate or assist with scheduling meetings and general office events, arrange for refreshments/lunches, as requested.
Self-motivated with ability to work independently.
Assist with special projects and requests, as needed.
Job Qualifications
Education, Training, and Licensure/Certification
Experience
- One year clerical experience preferred.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
Ability to read, speak and write fluently. Strong oral and written communication skills.
Excellent customer service skills; ability to respond to and appropriately handle telephone calls, inquiries and implement follow-up with the goal to be best in class with excellent customer service, externally and internally.
Ability to effectively utilize various Microsoft computer software applications, i.e. Word, Excel (basic knowledge), Outlook, OneDrive, and other software programs.
Ability to prioritize, organize and implement tasks and projects with minimal assistance.
Ability to display compassion and sensitivity in all situations, being mindful of the Samaritas mission of serving people as an expression of the love of Christ.
Ability to adhere to agency confidentiality policy.
Physical/Mental Requirements
Sits at work station for extended periods with continual concentration.
Near visual acuity to see video display terminals.
Hand and finger dexterity for key board use.
Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
Ability to move freely about the office.
Ability to stoop, bend and lift arms over head.
