Job Title: Design and Drafting Supervisor
Reports to: Engineering Manager

Summary and Primary Responsibilities:
The design and drafting supervisor leads the designer and drafter team members in design and drafting tasks required to produce documentation required to manufacture components per customer specifications and internal customers’ needs. Collaborate with other engineering supervisors, engineering product managers, lead engineers and engineering management to ensure that project requirements are being met.
•Manage, prioritize and assign tasks to team members to achieve project requirements and schedules.
•Develop, implement and enforce engineering department policies, standards, work instructions and procedures.
•Develop and motivate team members through mentoring, coaching, training and counseling.
•Identify and eliminate road blocks and inefficiencies that affect team members overall performance.
•Develop and implement metrics to improve team efficiency and performance.
•Set goals that support yearly department objectives and developmental needs of the team members.
•Conduct reviews and provide feedback regarding overall performance and identify opportunities for development of team members.
•Review and approve timesheets including time off requests.
•Perform engineering, design and drafting tasks when required.
•Perform other reasonably related tasks as assigned by management.
•Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
•Minimum 5 years experience in engineered-to-order equipment industry
•Education or Experience
•Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
•3 years experience supervising or leading a team in multiple locations
•3 years experience designing heavy mobile equipment
•Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
•Self-motivated individual that is passionate about machine design
•Ability to lead and participate in a team environment
•Ability to mediate and resolve conflict
•Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions
•Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical data
•Proficient with 3D CAD modeling and PLM software
•Ability to read and create detailed drawings using industry and company specific standards
Knowledge of drafting standards and practices
•Knowledge of welding principles and practices
•Knowledge of ferrous materials properties and characteristics
Proficient with MS Word, Excel and Powerpoint applications
•The ability to predictably and regularly attend work. Must be able to work nights, weekends and variable schedules as necessary
•The ability to travel via automobile, commercial airlines, and other public transportation, domestically and internationally, approximately 5% of the time
•The ability to read and understand documents and drawings
•The ability to deal politely and professionally with customers and coworkers
•The ability to manage and perform several tasks at once
•The ability to follow directions or instructions
•The ability to use a computer to communicate, create, and access information
