Position Summary
The MSU Department of Kinesiology has openings for fixed-term instructors/assistant professors to teach online courses for our sport coaching and leadership master’s degree and certificate program, kinesiology masters degree program, and kinesiology bachelor’s degree program.
The review of applications is ongoing and continuous. Please note that a position could be part-time or full-time and vary by semester, depending on the needs of the department. It is possible that no positions are needed in some semesters.
Responsibilities will include one or more of the following: Teaching graduate-level courses (primarily online); developing curriculum for graduate courses (primarily online); teaching undergraduate courses. Course subject matter relates to the following areas: athletic administration, sp ort leadership, recreation facility management, sport law, coaching psychology, coaching science, safety and injury control, physical bases of coaching, strength and conditioning, skill acquisition, student-athlete development, sport-based youth development, and other areas pertaining to kinesiology.
Required Degree
Doctorate -Kinesiology, Sport Administration, or equivalent program
Minimum Requirements
Advanced degree in Kinesiology, Sport Administration, or equivalent program. Evidence of significant scholarly background in coaching science, kinesiology, sport science, and/or sport administration. College-level teaching and course development (especially online delivery). Doctorate required for Assistant Professor; Master''s required for Instructor; Bachelor''s required for Assistant Instructor
Desired Qualifications
Earned doctorate and demonstrated excellence in college-level teaching. Minimum 3 years teaching and course development experience at the graduate level. Experience with online teaching.
