The lead organization for the West Michigan Mental Health Community Collaborative, Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital, offers an excellent opportunity for a full-time board certified or board eligible Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist. As the prime pediatric, clinical academic partner of Michigan State University College of Human Medicine, Helen Devos Children’s Hospital offers teaching opportunities and academic appointments for qualified candidates. Practice Description:
The dynamic and growing team currently includes three child psychiatrists, a parent educator, and eight pediatric psychologists with a plan for continued growth. The new partner will enjoy working in a practice that provides for the behavioral health needs of the tertiary and quaternary patient populations including consult-liaison, outpatient consult bridge clinic, and psychiatric evaluations for patients evaluated for autism in a center of excellence. Candidates must enjoy working collaboratively to evaluate and treat children with complex medical illness and/or developmental disabilities. Ranked in 6-specialties (2017-18) US News & World Report Best Children’s Hospitals, Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital is a state-of-the-art, globally integrated, 236-bed free standing dedicated children’s hospital located on the main campus of Spectrum Health. Annually, there are 8760 inpatient and 124,600 ambulatory visits, as well as over 55,185 children seen in the Pediatric Emergency Department (Level 1 Trauma rated). HDVCH also has one of the nation’s largest Level 4 NICU’s (108-beds).

Basic Qualifications:
Education - Medical Degree (MD or DO)
Licenses -
Current M.D. or D.O. license for the state of Michigan.
Current State of Michigan and Federal Narcotics Licenses.
Basic Life Support (BLS) Specific to SHMG 90 Days
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Specific to SHMG: ACLS required if stress tests performed or as required by specialty. 120 Days
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Specific to SHMG: (PALS is required by if specialty or stress test performed 120 Days
