Job Information:
- Grand Traverse Pavilions is seeking a motivated, full time Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). Variety of shifts and hours available.
- Starting wage for this position is $24.42/hour.
- $2.00/hour for working afternoon and midnight shifts.
- $1.00/hour for working Saturday and Sunday shifts.
- $2.35/hour Essential Worker Bonus.
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check and drug screen.
- All employees must demonstrate that they are fully vaccinated for COVID-19.
Tasks:
- Responsible for organizing own work effectively, assisting the Nurse Aides to organize their work, and supervising the quality of nursing care on an assigned shift.
- Make resident rounds initially and regularly throughout the shift monitoring resident needs, change in condition, safety, proper functioning of equipment, employee performance, and follow through of physician orders.
- Provide resident care as assigned.
- Ensure that medical record documentation is complete by the end of the shift per procedure.
- Assist in maintaining current care plans according to condition changes and advise supervisor accordingly.
- Ensure adequate nutritional intake by residents for assigned shift. Ensure that resident nourishments are offered/provided timely, and recorded.
- Notify responsible party of changes in resident’s plan of care.
- Administer and document medications, controlled drug accountability, ordering medications, and returning unused medications to pharmacy.
- Direct and/or perform and record procedures, treatments and response and complete charging procedures as required. Administer and document treatments per policy, and complete associated documents accordingly.
- Monitor IV infusions for proper flow rate, potency, etc. Report problems to supervisor.
- Recognize and take appropriate action to eliminate or minimize a potential or actual hazard to a resident and to initiate emergency measures as appropriate.
- Report suspected infections to the Infection Control Coordinator.
- Actively participates in quality assurance monitoring and corrective actions.
- Aware of State and Federal Nursing Home Regulations and assist in organization reaching compliance.
- Assist Assistant Director of Nursing in keeping care plans current according to condition changes. Keep Assistant Director of Nursing informed of changes made on the care plan.
- Check for proper placement of naso-gastric tubes and administer tube feeding as directed by physician order.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
