Job Summary
AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Construction Engineer I under the Transportation Division for immediate employment in the Southfield, MI office. This position provides the opportunity to work on large, unique, and complex transportation projects in Michigan and throughout the country.

This position will start on May 2020.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Be part of field inspection teams for oversight of transportation construction projects.
Monitoring and record the work and progress of contractors, while tracking material quality and usage.
Verifying that traffic control measures are implemented and maintained during construction.
Maintaining communication between AECOM supervisors and peers, MDOT and local agency personnel, contractor personnel and the general public.
Developing roadway construction cost estimates by calculating construction quantities and creating spreadsheets.
Performing field inspections, take field measurements and oversight of material testing on road and bridge construction projects.
Verify that applicable codes and engineering standard practices are being met.
Independently evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering techniques, procedures and criteria, and use judgment in making minor adaptations and modifications.
