JOB SUMMARY:
Under direction, assists in portioning and packing meals for the Meals on Wheels Program, serving lunch to Dining Senior Style participants, scheduling speakers, planning activities and holiday parties, completing program paperwork and cleaning; other duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Encourages senior participation by creating a pleasant and friendly atmosphere.
Organizes food service operation as required for Meals on Wheels and Dining Senior Style programs.
Portions and package meals for Meals on Wheels Volunteer Driver pick up.
Serves lunch on-site for Dining Senior Style participants.
Cleans site after lunch, including kitchen and dining room.
Ensures compliance with program policies and procedures, grant service standards, health codes and safety regulations.
Schedules regular speakers and plans activities and special events.
Maintains accurate records of necessary documentation for agency and funding source.
Submits weekly and monthly forms in accordance with established procedures.
Utilizes and operates steam table, coffee pots, refrigerator, stove and an oven, electrical heating units to maintain temperature of food.
Attends staff meetings, in-service or trainings as scheduled.
Recruits volunteers from site when assistance is needed.
Provides information and referrals for Aging Network services as needed.
Operates an automobile while performing assigned duties.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required Education and Experience
Possession of a high school diploma or a certification of successful completion of the General Education Development (GED) Test. Required License or Certification:
Possession of a valid Michigan driver's license and operable automobile for authorized departmental travel. Preferred Education and Experience

*WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS: *
Continuously required to work from a standing position, grasp and hold objects and lift up to ten pounds.
Frequently required to push or pull objects away from or toward the body, and lift up to thirty-five (35) pounds with or without assistance.
Occasionally required to balance on uneven surfaces, bend backward or forward from the waist, kneel/squat, and walk considerable distances within or between facilities.
Seeing/vision, talking/speaking, listening/hearing and touching/tactile movements are regularly required.
Manual dexterity and regular fine-finger and hand/wrist motions are regularly required.
Driving, leg/foot movement to operate machinery, working from a seated position, and lifting up to fifty (50) pounds with or without assistance is rarely required.
