MATERIAL AND EQUIPMENT USED:
- Torches
- Hand tools
- Diagnostic equipment (computer, etc.)
- Service (wrecker) trucks.
- Electrical Equipment (meters, etc.)
- Proper Personal Protection Equipment. (Hard hats, eye protection, hearing protection, etc.)
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Education and Experience:
- Possession of a high school diploma or the equivalent preferred.
- Experience working with heavy equipment desired.
License(s) and Certification(s) (To be achieved within probationary period):
- Valid Commercial Drivers License (CDL)
- Valid Medical Examiner’s Certificate in relation to CDL
- State of Michigan tanker endorsement required for those who are hired after 10-22-03
- State of Michigan Mechanical Certification
- State of Michigan Mechanical Certifications in Heavy Duty Truck Repair a plus.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge:
- Knowledge of safety procedures and precautions involved in day to day operations and with equipment.
- Knowledge of diagnostic equipment.
Skills:
- Skill in effective written and verbal communications.
Abilities:
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with individuals, coworkers, other agencies and the public.
- Ability to understand instructions, and follow directions.
- Ability to work in emergency conditions.
- Ability to work outside of normal business hours.
- Ability to work in various and adverse weather conditions.
