Description
Responsible to serve as a communications spokesperson for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan (BCBSM), primarily in the media and social media platforms. Responsible for serving as a face and voice of BCBSM in the media and public, in addition to researching and developing content and presenting health and wellness or medical information to promote a heathier lifestyle.
- Conduct research on health and wellness or medical related topics to develop communication content, talking points, recipes etc. for media interviews and social media content.
- Establish and maintain a positive relationship with the media. Participate in media interviews in person, over the phone or through written communications for TV news stations, print publications, radio stations and blogs.
- Develop health and wellness or medical content to post and share live on social media channels through Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.
- Create, publish and review blog posts on internal and external internet sites.
- Review and provide feedback on internal and external communications that promote health and wellness or medical programs.
- May research and create healthy recipes that can be demonstrated during interviews.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in nutrition, nursing or related field is required.
- Certification as a Registered Dietitian (RD), Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE) or current unrestricted State of Michigan clinical license (RN, LMSW, LP, LPC, or LLP) or other health area is required.
- A minimum of four (4) years of health and wellness or clinical related experience is required.
- A minimum of one (1) year of experience with media interviews is preferred.
- Previous experience developing and reviewing communications content is required.
- Previous experience with an established social media presence is preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to multitask.
- Knowledge of different forms of multi-media.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
- Ability to travel throughout the state of Michigan to participate in-person for interviews.
