Program Summary:-ACCESS Hope House Clubhouse in Dearborn MI is a non-profit 501(c)(3) accredited psychosocial rehabilitation program that focuses on helping adults with mental illness (re)discover their passions and interests. Our intentional working community is a non-clinical therapy-through-work program assisting people in living vocationally meaningful and socially satisfying lives by returning to work and school, living independently, participating in their community and developing a social support network. We are a standards-based and community-based Clubhouse and any adult residing in Wayne County with an on-going and persistent mental illness is eligible to join. Our services include (but are not limited to): individual and group facilitation, peer supports, medication management coordination, employment services, health education including exercise and nutrition classes, transportation assistance, free legal aid, voluntary meaningful work on the culinary or administration team, ESL and Arabic classes, life skills development, outpatient day program, and many more.
Job Summary:-Under general supervision, uses motivational and organizational skills obtained through experience and training to provide a range of non-clinical rehabilitation services to adults with mental illness with the goal of assisting Clubhouse members in living independent, vocationally meaningful and socially satisfying lives. Possesses an energetic and upbeat attitude and is able to assess a person-s strengths and challenges, while remaining alert and non-reactive in an environment with many interruptions and distractions. -Must complete work with members, not for members. -Will work with assigned program participants, following established procedures to perform routine tasks. Central to this role is the active engagement of Clubhouse members in all aspects of Clubhouse operations. Routine contact with internal and external clients is required to obtain, clarify or provide facts and information.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Engage Clubhouse members in active participation in task planning and completion to increase vocational and social self-sufficiency
Engage Clubhouse members in co-coordinated activities including -work time- tasks, participatory goal setting with a focus on establishing, assessing and tracking vocational, educational, housing and socialization goals and tracking the progress towards those goals
Plan and coordinate work tasks with small and large groups by facilitating committees including, but not limited to: GED, Computer Skills, Newsletter, Education, Employment, Culinary, Billing and Housing
Develop, implement, and evaluate activities, ensuring participation and compliance in accordance with the program-s objective and policies
Assist member in finding appropriate transportation-
Regularly collect documentation and evidence of participant progress and activities, complete required case notes and document all services in compliance with the agency-s quality assurance plan
Establish and maintain effective relationships with Clubhouse members
Assist program participants in developing effective job seeking skills, including completing applications, writing resumes, practicing job interviewing techniques and other related skills
Provide in-house support for members as needed including Medicaid sign up, referrals for phones, medication management and coordination of care
Develop and maintain relationships with existing and potential employers for Clubhouse member-s transitional employment programs
Provide training and coverage on transitional employment job placements
Participate in ongoing recruitment activities for new Clubhouse members by creating educational/program marketing materials, conducting outreach and information sessions, etc.
Maintains organization-s confidentiality measures to protect clients- privacy
Resolve most questions and problems and refer new or unusual issues to a higher level
Provide coverage on a rotating basis for evening, weekend and holiday social activities
May provide transportation as assigned
May communicate and interact with external program funders, partners and advisory board members and attend grant related meetings or participate in training sessions as required
May provide translation services as needed
Follow all applicable local, state and federal laws, organizational policies, policies and procedures from funding sources and standards from accreditors including Clubhouse International and the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF), among others
Operate standard office equipment, standard kitchen equipment and use required software applications
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of:
Community resources including social services agencies and crisis intervention providers
Processes, rules and regulations of various services and funding agencies surrounding the eligibility and maintenance of the services being received
HIPAA regulations based on assigned functional area
Skill in:
- Operating standard office equipment and using required software applications for program area and other applications, including Microsoft Office
Ability to:
Understand that recovery for people with mental illness is possible and believe in the power of community
Utilize and document in an EMR system
Work as part of a team as well as independently in an upbeat and dynamic environment
Maintain a positive, energetic attitude in high-pressure situations
Easily build rapport with individuals from diverse backgrounds, while maintaining focus in a dynamic environment
Facilitate meetings, ensuring that all viewpoints, ideas and problems are addressed
Organize and prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines
Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
Speak and write in English
Interpret, speak and write in Arabic, Spanish or other native language of the predominant service population is preferred
Partner with other functional areas to accomplish objectives
Maintain confidentiality of agency and client information
Educational/Previous Experience Requirements:

At least 1 year of related work experience based on assigned functional area or any equivalent combination of experience, education and/or training approved by Human Resources
If employee will be assigned to drive: At least 1 year of professional driver experience operating a class C motor vehicle or any equivalent combination of experience, education, and/or training approved by Human Resources
