The Sweetland Center for Writing seeks an Undergraduate Program Coordinator for its Peer Writing Consultant Program and Minor in Writing. This coordinator has an active role in managing these two student-focused programs in collaboration with Sweetland faculty. Peer Writing Consultant Program
- Collaborate with the Faculty Director of the Peer Writing Consultant Program and the committee to plan and implement program goals and policies and procedures.
- Plan and coordinate recruitment and admission processes including application process, scoring, notifications, permissions, etc.
- Plan and assist with welcome and training meetings and other events as needed.
- Manage the Peer Writing Center facilities.
- Supervise 4-8 student receptionists and approximately 50 student consultants.
- Create and manage new schedules every term for consultants and receptionists, monitor attendance and shift changes, and approve time.
- Coordinate peer writing consultants’ participation in outreach activities.
- Create reports on center usage and evaluation of consultants.
Minor in Writing
- Collaborate with the Minor Committee to create and enforce policies and procedures.
- Manage all aspects of the Minor in Writing.
- Plan and coordinate recruitment and admission processes including application process, scoring, notifications, declarations, permissions, etc.
- Plan and assist with welcome meetings, commencement, and other events as needed.
- Maintain online resources and provide support to faculty advisors regarding student degree audits (e.g., non-LSA students, credits, course sharing, etc.)
- Advise students about the Minor.
- Participate in the LSA Undergraduate Stuent Services meetings.
- Liaison to Academic Advising units and the Registrar's Office regarding the Minor in Writing.
