LEELANAU EARLY CHILDHOOD COUNTY COORDINATOR NEEDED.
The Benzie-Leelanau District Health Department is looking for a part-time person to lead a county-wide early childhood collaborative effort in Leelanau County. This position is funded through the Leelanau County Early Childhood millage and is a half-time contract position through December 31, 2020 with the possibility of becoming an employee of the Benzie-Leelanau District Health Department starting January 2021.
This position averages 20 hours a week and is paying $26-$30 an hour, depending on experience.
Primary responsibilities:
- Familiarity with early childhood issues and with the Leelanau community.
- Must be a skilled "convener" of community initiatives with strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Facilitate a county Early Childhood Advisory Committee.
- Improve coordination among all partners providing services for families with young children.
- Review and analyze data pertaining to early childhood needs and assets.
- Coordinate with stakeholders to develop a multi-year strategic plan for improving the health and well-being of families and young children.
- Ensure the community is informed of available programs and services.
