Partners with leadership to direct all aspects of employee relations. Provides technical expertise and consultation to leadership and staff. Acts as employee advocate, mediator, investigator, consultant and counselor. Manages house-wide HR projects in support of identified organizational change. Leads Organizational Development and Training efforts. Develops in-house training for leaders from Supervising Coordinator to Assistant VP level to meet identified organizational needs. Manages the performance management system to include ensuring compliance of all required initial and annual reviews. Provides support to other Human Resources areas as needed.
Minimum Education/Training: BA/BS degree in Business Administration or a Human Resources related field. Minimum 5 years experience as an HR generalist in a large (over 500 employees) organization from either a union or non-union setting. Responsibilities in all aspects of HR, including Employee Relations, Training, Compliance, Performance Management, Benefits, FMLA, Recruitment and Retention.
Preferred Education: MBA or Master's of Management, or other mid-level degree or certification.
Preferred Experience: 7 years as an HR generalist in a large (over 500 employees) organization from either a union or non-union setting.
Physical Requirements: Lift and carry 25-35 lbs. Push/pull 50-100 lbs. (ie. empty bed, stretcher) Occasional standing. Occasional twisting, bending, reaching, squatting. Frequent sitting, walking, keyboard use. Continuous talking, hearing.
Other Requirements: Project management. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software. Excellent interpersonal, and communications skills including listening, writing and presentation skills. Must be personable, mature and flexible. Must be skillful in dealing with conflict in a constructive manner. Must have a drivers license and vehicle covered by insurance.
