Laser Technology Engineer. Direct technical aspects of EMAG’s Laser Welding Lab and drive market growth of EMAG Lasertec technologies (Laser welding, Laser hardening and assembly). Provide technology and project management support for all EMAG laser-related projects in North America. Liaise with German HQ and contribute to corporate improvement projects with research and development. Oversee the promotion of laser welding technology into all current and potential customer accounts and provide technology support to existing and potential clients. Direct the production of quality prototypes and part welding runs. Requires: Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering with focus on manufacturing and system engineering or closely related field (for. deg. equiv. accepted) and at least two years of experience in laser welding in an industrial setting, which must include weld development of materials for automotive applications in powertrain engineering, metallography analysis, weld design and dimensioning, weld quality and inspection and fracture analysis. Position requires limited domestic and international travel to client sites, including Canada and Mexico, with bi-annual trips to Germany.
