Do you have what it takes to be a great project manager? Do you have some skills and experience but need additional training in some areas? Are you coachable and eager to learn? If so, this is the job for you!
At Trident Maritime Systems- Heavy Equipment Group, the Defense Program Managers and Project Managers are key leaders, responsible for the safety, quality, technical performance, and financial results of design and manufacturing projects for heavy shipboard machinery.
A Program Manager is typically responsible for several projects within their program portfolio. This includes customer relationship management, project initiation, control, monitoring, and reporting. At Trident-HEG, “programs” are ship platforms or product groups containing several projects. A Defense Project Manager owns similar responsibilities, just on a smaller scale as they learn. Program Managers may also be responsible for training and mentoring Project Managers who may support their programs.
Trident-HEG, has projects on every surface ship class in the US Navy, as well as Coast Guard and foreign and commercial customers. As we grow and promote program managers to other key roles in the company, we are hiring both Program Managers and Project Managers.
Exceptional written and verbal communication and customer service skills are absolutely essential.
Education or experience in heavy manufacturing, project management, business management, engineering, or supply chain management are helpful. PMP certification is helpful but not required. An MBA is helpful but not required. We value demonstrated skills and results over credentials.
