Kforce has a client in search of an Automotive Powertrain Designer in Pontiac, MI. This is a design position for multiple performance parts such as racing, powertrain related parts, dyno.Duties:
Candidates would be working on an NX CAD station
Responsible for designing dyno and engine parts
Completing designs
Releases and file check within team center
Associate's degree
9 years of experience
Powertrain experience, machining, casting
Expert level NX design software skills:
Knowledgeable in sketch-based modeling practices
Ability to manipulate large assemblies within the NX structure
Strong working knowledge of Promoted or Linked bodies for casting model tooling and machining operations
Able to create NX drawings, containing all necessary views and drawing requirements
Expert in casting design and associated math tooling for creation
Experience in machining techniques of castings and billet components
Strong knowledge of other various other manufacturing processes (i.e. molding, stamping, extrusion, machining, etc.)
Strong working knowledge of GD&T as it applies to automotive component design, with the ability to apply GD&T principles to all machined features
Familiar with the Teamcenter Data Management system for math data release
Working knowledge of CAE and common analysis tools
Basic knowledge of internal combustion engine components and working principles
Good Interpersonal skills to work effectively with others in a team environment
Ability to manipulate math data using Teamcenter Visualization (TcVIS)
The ability to handle change
Team player with flexibility to full design or detail work
