The Senior Buyer will assist the plant in the daily procurement of indirect materials to support the plant, with a primary focus on maintenance. The Senior Buyer will provide accurate planning to prevent stock-outs. In addition, the Senior Buyer will work closely with the Category Specialist and/or Category Manager to monitor materials pricing, strategies, supplier relationships and stock availability.

ORDER MANAGEMENT AND SCHEDULING
•Release Strategies
•Schedule Duration
•Spot Purchases
•Quoting Policies and Procedures
•Negotiation
•Single Source Procedures
•Purchase Order Releases in collaboration with Category Manager
•Interact with Plant Personnel on Production Scheduling
•Resolving Invoice Discrepancies
NEGOTIATIONS
•Support Global & Corporate Agreements
•Support RPM and Category Managers' Agreements
•Develop and negotiate local Agreements
•Cost Savings classifications - Not Only Price (Delivery, Stocking Strategies, TCO, etc.
•Procurement area represents the organization in all commercial issues in the categories under their responsibility.
•Contact between users and suppliers should concentrate on the confirmation of specifications and scopes of work. Requests for quotes need to be made jointly with qualified Procurement personnel.
•The greatest value lies in pre-negotiation of anticipated needs- time adds leverage for us.
•Procurement can create schedule agreements with suppliers that are at the best possible prices and terms.
SUPPLIER RELATIONSHIPS
•New-Supplier Qualification
•Existing-Supplier reviews, with Action Plans developed for Improvement
•Supplier Visits- Protocol and Procedures (both for Suppliers visiting mill, and Buyer Planner visiting Supplier)
NONCONFORMANCES & FINANCIAL DISPUTE RESOLUTION
•Material Nonconformance Procedure
•Determination of Disposition
•Who releases- Improvement/Facilitator/Routine Facilitator
•Selection- Use As Is; Return to Vendor- replacement;
•Return to Vendor- credit; Scrap; Other
•Actions Dependent on Disposition-
•Vendor submits Corrective Action and/or Credit
RELATIONSHIPS- INTRACOMPANY AND INTERCOMPANY:
•Seek opportunities with other regions, for joint negotiations
•Material transfers- low-usage location to high-usage location
•Material transfers- discontinued/excess/obsolete materials to a location that can use
•Best-Practices exchanges
