HDR is looking for a Power Generation Section Manager to join or Ann Arbor, MI office.
Primary Responsibilities:
As Power Generation Section Manager you will be in position to inspire, lead and oversee the activities of a highly capable multi-discipline team involving mechanical, chemical, electrical, instrumentation & controls, civil/structural, development and project controls disciplines. You will help in managing a highly diverse power and energy business across numerous established client relationships as well as fostering new power and energy business within the industrial, institutional, IPP and utility power and energy industry, both locally and in collaboration with other HDR Areas. Our services encompass owner's engineer work for large generation and central energy facilities, as well as consulting and design for distributed generation, district energy, renewables and microgrid applications. This position is responsible for the supervision and operations of the Power Generation team in Michigan. In concert with the discipline section managers, this position oversees staffing, financial management, client delivery, and quality control within the group. Other duties include ongoing development of both internal and external client relationships as well as marketing activities including support for proposal development and QA approvals. Responsibilities include:
*Participate in power generation marketing efforts to grow the program by developing new clients, enhancing our position with existing clients and implementing our long-term strategy and profit in the Michigan market. Serve as a key client manager for selected clients.
*Work with local, regional and national operational leadership to build capabilities through recruitment, retention and staff training.
*Provide technical and project management leadership to ensure projects have appropriate staff and that the quality program is implemented effectively.
*Work with other Market Sector and Practice Leaders in the development and execution of key market sector initiatives identified by the business group.
*Facilitate teamwork, communication, and work-sharing between offices and business groups.
*Maintaining accurate workload forecast reports and proactively resolving discrepancies between staff availability and anticipated workload.
*Monitoring business results and implementing timely actions and process improvements.
*Develop and/or review project objectives, scope, estimates, schedules, work plans and staffing for power generation pursuits and projects.
*Monitoring implementation of company policies, standards, quality assurance activities, and risk management activities.
*Encourage and participate in business and community activities as representative of HDR.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
*Engineering BS degree from and ABET accredited program.
*Maintains a professional or engineering registration and has related technical experience.
*Minimum 15 years' experience, including project and program management in the power and energy industry.
*Experienced in the successful development and management of diverse teams.
