GENERAL SUMMARY:
Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of Environmental Services which may include general cleaning, floor maintenance and laundry functions. This position reports to Manager, Environmental Services (EVS) and or Patient Transport.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
1. Supervising Environmental Services employees. Interviewing, selecting and training new employees. Monitoring current employees and providing ongoing training, coaching and performance management.
2. Participating in the development and implementation of department wide projects and programs. Responding to customer concerns/compliments.
3. Controlling operating expenses. Adjusting staffing levels based on fluctuating workloads.
4. Developing and maintaining employee performance standards to achieve desired quality results through daily rounding in areas of responsibility and performing required audits. Evaluating employee performance.
5. Utilizing the Beaumont Standards and effective communication skills to incorporate specific age, cultural or developmental needs.
6. Maintaining and/or improving employee engagement through rounding, recognition, team building and meeting.
7. Participation in department and hospital committees.
8. Developing programs/practices, which ensure correct/safe care and usage of chemical products and equipment.
9. Evaluation of new and existing products and equipment.

STANDARD QUALIFICATIONS

A. Education / Training: Associate degree or 3 years previous management experience preferred.
B. Work Experience: 3 years of management experience. Knowledge of hospital procedures and practices.
C. Certification, Licensure, Registration: None required.
D. Other Qualifications: Excellent organization, written and oral communication and human relation skills. Computer knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet programs. Will need to learn Techni-clean, Outlook, SA Audit and Bed Tracker. Ability to communicate, direct and motivate culturally diverse and/or physically/mentally challenged employees.
