One of the nations largest producers of shelf-stable fruits and vegetables located right here in Northern Michigan is looking for a Sanitation Worker where you’ll be responsible for assisting in all areas of maintaining high levels of daily cleanliness and adherence to site Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs). This generationally owned company has a great reputation in the area for friendly management, a family atmosphere and fast paced days.
Activities:
•Sanitation workers help to ensure the plant is audit ready at all times by cleaning, and sanitizing the outside of all processing equipment, tanks, containers, walls, floors, baseboards, handrails, sinks, drains, and trash cans throughout the porcessing plant.
•Assists production staff with cleaning up major projects as needed.
•Takes direction from the Sanitation Supervisor to resolve any sanitation issues that arise.
•Works with Production and other co-workers to meet sanitation schedules
Abilities:
•Performing physical activities that require considerable use of your arms, and back such as lifting and handling pails and or boxes of product.
•Job requires standing on feet and or walking throughout the entire work shift.
•The ability to quickly and repeatedly bend, stretch twist, or reach out with your body and arms requiring flexibility.
•The ability to move your hand, your hand together with your arm, or your two hands to grasp or manipulate, to work with fruit to include i.e.: sorting, de-clumping.
•Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
•Exposure to warm, humid and wet conditions.
