Student Employee - Mechatronics Lab
Description
The primary purpose of student employment is to provide current LCC students with the opportunity to acquire job skills and experiences during semesters while actively attending classes at LCC.
Job Summary
Student employees inManufacturing Engineering Technology (MET) Programwill assist instructors and lab assistants during class times and help prepare and maintain the lab before and after classes. The successful applicant must be dependable, a self-starter, outgoing, fast learner, and able to work in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment. This position may require daytime and evening hours.
Primary Job Duties
Provide information on lab safety to students and visitors
Ensure that lab safety procedures are followed at all times
Ensure that the lab is clean, orderly, and properly prepared for each class
Assist students, faculty, and lab assistants during class time as requested
Assist in maintaining lab equipment
Assist in inventorying and maintaining supplies for the lab
Complete work requests for faculty and lab assistants
Work with faculty and lab assistants on projects as requested

Knowledge of general inventory procedures
Knowledge of lab safety requirements and procedure
Experience with the tools and machines used in MET labs
Familiarity with Microsoft Office products

Qualifications
Availability to work occasional daytime and evening hours
High school diploma / GED
Actively pursuing an Associate degree or certificate in an area of study within Manufacturing Engineering Technologies (MET)
Enrolled in 6 credits minimum in fall and spring semesters; 3 credits in summer semester
3.0 GPA preferred
Requirements for LCC Student Employment
The following requirements apply each semester in order to maintain eligibility and continue working as a student employee:
-International students with an F-1 visa and valid I-20 issued by LCC must meet the following minimum enrollment/credit requirements each semester, in order to maintain employment eligibility per United States Citizenship & Immigration Services (USICS) regulations:
-Minimum 2.0 GPA or have approval to waive requirement unless it is the student's first semester of enrollment at LCC
Hours per Week: Up to 25 Hours
Hourly Wage: $10.75
