The Position:
- Maintains an in-depth understanding of design and traditional print processes, including CMYK and spot color systems.
- Understands how to use and create product-file-templates.
- Creates print ready production files and organizes job assets within file folder structures on the server for a variety of print processes.
- Prepares and proofs production files for a wide range of consumer products, including cards, paper tableware, gift packaging, home decor, giftware, and packaging.
- Delivers color-matching materials to the internal team and/or external suppliers to ensure accurate production.
- Reviews production files in a timely fashion, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Prepares and adjust press-ready files and images based on the supplied specifications.
- Packages image files correctly and ensures they are ready for use and easily accessible.
- Follows development timelines to ensure all projects are completed within deadlines.
- Collaborates with the Production Manager, VP of Creative, Art Directors, Director of Product Development, as well as the entire Creative Team, to enhance the product line, workflow, and production process.
- Acts as a key player in process improvement and development to enhance organization-wide standards.
- Understands supplier/vendor needs and expectations and communicates effectively with relevant parties.
- Acts as a liaison to the Production Manager and as a mentor to entry level Production Artists to provide guidance and facilitate team collaboration.
- Assists with the creation of physical mockups as needed.
- Assists in organizing and maintaining File Transer Site/Vendor Transfer Site and Art Server.
- Keeps current with design technologies, techniques, software, and best practices.
- Troubleshoots problems with suppliers, vendors, and manufacturers.
- Assists in keeping files of fonts, colors, and art in an orderly and systemized fashion for ease of use and efficiency.
