Summary
Senior Project Engineers are in charge of one to many individual product development projects ranging from simple modifications of existing products to the creation of new complex devices. Their duties include concept and design of optical devices and/or processes as well as having full responsibility for the execution and documentation of appropriate verification/validation tests and measurements. Senior level engineers are expected to serve as a technical resource for other engineers within the group, ensuring that best practice processes and controls are being used throughout EOT product development.
Essential Duties
- Assist in establishing new product development strategy and tools
- Provide technical and best practice guidance to R&D and Manufacturing Engineers
- Oversee various projects within R&D utilizing the PDP Process as appropriate.
- Design and testing of mechanical, optical and electronic components and devices
- Create and maintain documentation (drawings, bills of material, device assembly procedures, schematics, test procedures, ISO, etc)
- Assist production department with design and performance issues
- Assist with the creation of Engineering Change Notices (ECN) for existing products
- Lead product development projects and report out to management on project status
- Work with various departments within EOT and customers on design and scheduling issues
- Technical customer interface on projects and general support for sales department

Job Requirements and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field and a minimum of 7 years design / manufacturing experience required. Associates degree in engineering and more than 10 years directly related laser industry experience may be considered.
- Experience in R&D or New Product Development preferred
- Experience in Solidworks and FEA software (COMSOL) preferred
- Prior leadership experience preferred

- Domestic and international travel up to 5%
