The Professional Maintenance Manager (PMM) – BIW will be responsible for managing the activities of maintenance area supervisors, professional maintenance specialist and respective skilled trades’ employees. The PMM will ensure technical and methodological support to the department to guarantee equipment proper functionality and improvement. Ensure detailed analysis of OEE/OLE indicators and proper machines classification, checking if recovery plans are appropriate.
Job responsibilities include but not limited to:
•Define the correct maintenance strategy to be carried out in relation to the production plan, available resources and budget
•Ensure correct data collection processes, assess maintenance activities and manage spare parts storage strategy
•Assure focus on WCM AM/PM activities, proper management of technical documentation and transmission of MP-INFOs
•Monitor activities related to external suppliers and manage budget for support and technical cleanings
•Support all aspects of production processes including safety, quality, delivery, cost and morale
•Drive successful implementation of World Class Manufacturing (WCM) processes and standards
Basic Qualifications
•Bachelor’s degree or journeyperson; and minimum of 5 years of industrial automation maintenance experience
•Ability to work any shift and overtime as required
•Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interface with various levels of employees within all areas of the Plant from hourly represented employees to Senior Leadership as required
•Ability to build effective business relationships with plant leadership and customers
•Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
•Demonstrated ability to coach / mentor / develop team members
•Goal oriented self-starter with ability to lead team
•Experience in continuous improvement systems and lean manufacturing
•Troubleshooting and programming experience in one of the following: controls, robotics, drives and system level communication systems, sealing systems, glass cell systems, various conveyance systems, welding – all types, paint process and associated systems, vision systems and sensors use and application.
•Experience with machine, systems operation and integration
•Must possess a working knowledge of advanced technical problem solving tools
•Must have a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office
Preferred Qualifications
•Bachelor’s degree or higher in technical/engineering field (i.e., BSME or BSEE)
•Previous experience working in a union environment.
•Production/maintenance supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment
•Familiar with World Class Manufacturing pillar methodology and implementation
•Seven or more years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing/automotive environment
•Knowledge of welding processes (i.e. resistance spot welding)
•Experience with Control Net Networks, DeviceNet Networks, ABB
•Experience with RSLogix, PLC-5, Control Logics, Allen Bradley Drive Systems, machine installation, robotic automation and application
•Experience with body shop, stamping press automation or subassemblies
•Good working knowledge of Google Suite software programs
