Position Overview/Description
The Experience Development Engineer - Off-road and Trailer Tow position requires a strong understanding of customer expectations for enjoyable off-road and trailer tow experiences. You will work with Vehicle Program Teams and Technology Teams in the demonstration of compelling customer-to-vehicle interaction experiences throughout the various phases of vehicle program development. Our group leverages user-centered design thinking to drive creative and cost-effective solutions that enhance the off-road and trailer tow experiences.

Responsibilities
Understand customer expectations during an off-road or trailer tow experience and interpret customer facing interfaces into actionable engineering deliverables
Work with vehicle program teams to define and deliver off-roading and trailer towing program requirements while meeting program deadlines
Troubleshoot vehicle/powertrain functional issues; determine and validate corrective actions and preventative measures
Input specific off-road and trailer tow engineering deliverables into program milestone tracking systems
Oversee prototype vehicle preparation with safety equipment and instrumentation; conduct in-vehicle development and validation testing
Develop CAE models that determine areas of risk for damage during off-road events in the early stage of the vehicle development process
Basic Qualifications
Bachelors Degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering or related degree
4+ years of experience in Automotive Engineering
Must have and maintain a valid Driver's License and legally be allowed to drive in the United States
1+ years ADAMS CAE modeling experience specific to off-road surfaces
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of Python programming language and application to ADAMS models
Knowledge of collecting and interpreting data with ATI Vision
Experience driving off-road in mud, sand, and rocks
Understanding of product development timelines
Motivated self-starter able to manage multiple tasks and work streams
Excellent oral and written communication skills / interpersonal skills
