SUMMARY OF POSITION
The Manager, Supply Chain (SCM) is responsible for the full supply chain of the site including: production planning/scheduling, purchasing, and logistics (shipping/receiving). The SCM creates and maintains forecast models for shipments, incorporating business intelligence and forecast information gathered from sales, marketing, operations, finance, and other sources. The SCM will have direct reporting responsibility for all planning/scheduling, purchasing, and logistics talent, and will be responsible for growing and developing that talent into best-in-class supply chain professionals.
KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead site Planning/Scheduling, Purchasing and Logistics talent to:
•Oversee planning, scheduling, material, production, outside operation supplier performance, and delivery status of orders.
•Implement Orchid's supply chain strategy at the site. Works in partnership with the plant management to ensure results.
•Track key performance metrics relating to supply chain planning including but not limited to, scrap, lead time, vendor performance; monitors planned vs. actual performance and presents results to leaders. Institutes continuous improvement initiatives.
•Lead the site S&OP and supply planning process, creating monthly deliverables and analyses aligned to the global Integrated Business Planning process and timelines.
•Establish the overall build strategy for the site in regards to what products should be make-to-stock vs. make-to-order, including an order acknowledgement and inventory management process in alignment with this strategy.
•Establish, maintain, and own the inventory strategy for raw, WIP, and finished goods including exiting products, new products and product phase-outs. Accountable for establishing production and purchasing plans that satisfy the inventory strategy, as well as working with customers to align their expectations for Vendor Managed Inventory minimum and maximum stock levels to the site inventory strategy.
•Monitors on hand inventory for accuracy of count and location; works to eliminate inventory through improved materials planning.
•Oversee the implementation and use of standard processes and tools to:
•Receive incoming orders and verify capacity to assure order status can be managed as required.
•Analyze inventory levels to ensure material availability and On Time Delivery in Full while meeting inventory budgets and targets.
•Aggregate incoming customer forecasts to assist in capacity planning.
•Oversee the flow of materials, subassemblies and finished goods through the manufacturing process internally and with the alignment of the customer
•Ensure execution of purchase orders in accordance with overall purchasing, inventory, and commodity strategies and supplier agreements. Provide input in the supplier agreements to ensure alignment with site business processes and objectives.
•Maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure quality of delivery and reliability. Evaluate supplier performance to ensure quality of delivery and reliability, holding suppliers accountable when under-performing and escalating to commodity managers when appropriate.
•Maintain accurate information through daily communications with manufacturing teams.
•Review historical trends, research demand drivers, prepare forecast data, and evaluate forecast results.
•Set and maintain stock levels to ensure maximum efficiency of working capital.
•Partner with Commodity Managers to identify additional sources of supply for important materials and maintain a relationship with acceptable vendors.
•Keep informed of all new developments relative to materials and supplies and make recommendations designed to reduce costs and improve methods.
•Participate in negotiations with suppliers on conflicts or questions on prices, deliveries, and specifications.
•Responsible for inventory valuation.

•Support quality and compliance by complying with all Quality Management Systems (QMS) documentation requirements.
