Fiat Chrysler Automobiles is currently seeking a Engineering Research & Development Program Controller to work in our ER&D Financial Control team at our Headquarters & Technical Center in Auburn Hills, MI. The ER&D Financial Control team provides financial oversight and support to the key NAFTA Engineering organizations, specifically Vehicle, Powertrain, and the Product Design Office. On the operations side, the team serves as Controllers and the finance single point of contact for all NAFTA ER&D spending for programs within their assigned areas. The team works closely with Design, Engineering, and Product & Powertrain Platforms Finance staffs to manage and control all aspects of spending on approved programs.
What you’ll do:
This individual serves as the Finance single point of contact for all Engineering, Research & Development (ER&D) spending for the set of specific programs assigned. This individual works closely with Engineering, Purchasing, and Product Finance staffs to manage and control all aspects of spending on approved programs. Each analyst shares ownership with the Engineering team of the development, reporting, and tracking of budgeted, actual, and forecast spending for assigned programs. This role interacts very closely with the Engineering Operations teams as a direct business partner.
Key Responsibilities:
• Forecast and budget development
• Actual and forecast reporting
• Program spending and KPI tracking
• Review and approval of spending requisitions
• Cost reduction opportunity identification
•Ad-hoc reporting/special projects as needed
What you’ll learn:
• The ability to work with operational counterparts while practicing financial management (forecasts, budgets)
• Manage collaboration with engineering counterparts to optimize efficiency of ER&D spending from cost controllership perspective
• Ability to make quick decisions in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work with large data sets, and the ability to summarize (and often times present) the material in a clear and concise manner to all levels of management
• Learn engineering’s product development process as well as the management process throughout the vehicle lifecycle

• Product Finance — Model Controller
• Purchasing Finance — Commodity Controller
• Positions in Manufacturing Finance.
Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Finance or Accounting (if no Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting, must have an MBA)
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in Finance or Accounting
• Strong project management skills to manage multiple work streams at one time
• Ability to deliver on high-priority requests in a timely manner, providing a point of view for direction of deliverable
Preferred Qualifications
• MBA
• CPA
• Excellent navigation and comprehensive knowledge of SAP software application
• Outstanding communication skills (verbal and written)
• Advanced Excel (Pivot Tables, Lookup), Essbase and Accounting knowledge beneficial
• Automotive industry knowledge
