Position Summary
The Arora Lab in the Department of Obstetrics Gynecology and Reproductive Biology and the Institute for Quantitative Health Science and Engineering at Michigan State University (www.aroralab.com) is seeking an enthusiastic and creative Research Associate (Postdoctoral Fellow) to work on a project focusing on mechanisms underlying changes in the three-dimensional structure of the murine uterus promoting embryo implantation. The lab uses classic developmental biology and implantation biology methods, mouse genetics, gene expression analysis and state-of-the art laser-scanning confocal microscopy complemented by 3D image analysis using computational modeling approaches. The position provides excellent academic learning opportunities in a highly interactive and networked environment. The successful candidate will join a new group of colleagues with access to core facility support and a network of creative experimental and computational collaborations
This position is a 12 month fixed term appointment. Renewal of position is based on funding and performance.

Required Degree
Doctorate
Minimum Requirements
- PhD or equivalent degree in Developmental Biology, Reproductive Physiology, Biomedical Engineering or Biomathematics (Candidates with a PhD in Mathematics, Physics or Computer Sciences are welcome to apply.)
- Experience working in a multidisciplinary research teams
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Willingness to learn and perform mouse husbandry and animal surgery
- An interest in approaching biological problems with a quantitative mind set are required.
Desired Qualifications
The successful candidate will meet at least two of the following desired requirements:
- Strong familiarity with fundamental laboratory techniques, including but not limited to immunofluorescence, RNA extraction, qPCR
- Prior experience working with mouse models
- Experience with RNA-sequencing and sequencing data analysis
- Experience with Quantitative Image analysis
- Experience with R, Matlab, or Python programming language
