Ford Motor Company's Global Data Insight & Analytics (GDIA) organization is looking for motivated and talented individuals with a deep understanding of data analytics and modeling. You will have the opportunity to work with some of the brightest global subject matter experts that are leading Ford's transformation into a mobility company. In this role, you will lead initiatives to use predictive analytics and machine learning leveraging unique data streams and deliver value to other Ford organizations such as Product Development, Strategy, and Sustainability. You will be expected to provide data-driven decision support to these organizations and communicate results clearly and concisely. We are seeking independent thinkers with a technical capability who have a passion for developing and applying cutting edge technologies.

Responsibilities
You will be responsible for providing the data analytics support for projects, including assembly of data for building models and performing predictive/prescriptive analytics. More specifically, you will:
Translate high-level ideas into well-defined analytic problems.
Lead the development of predictive analytics and machine learning algorithms related to electrification. Manage projects through its life cycle.
Develop complete system designs that include data, pre-processing, modeling, optimization, post-processing, effective visualization and interfaces for user interaction.
Quantify expected benefits of the analytic product, such as fuel economy improvements, cost reductions, durability improvements, etc.
Work collaboratively with various business groups and regions to disseminate critical information and develop strategic opportunities.
Basic Qualifications:
PhD in Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, or a related field.
1+ years of academic or business experience in optimization algorithms and mathematical modeling with CPLEX, Matlab, and/or Minitab.
1+ years of academic or business experience in data mining, geospatial analysis, and machine learning with Python, R, Qlikview, and/or Tableau.
1+ years of academic or business experience in Hadoop ecosystem with HDFS, MapReduce, Hive, Spark, Oozie, Ambari, and/or Jupyter Notebooks.
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of electrification concepts coupled with deep understanding of connected vehicle data to help identify elements of large data sets that can be used most effectively to address the business questions related to electrification.
Experience in developing software applications (C++, JAVA, C#, and/or Scala).
Experience in simulation modeling (Matlab and/or AnyLogic).
Experience with Amazon AWS cloud services such as EC2, S3, RDS etc.
Ability to write complex Hive queries needed to mine data and build complex workflows.
Demonstrated technical skill and experience building quick proof of concepts using commercial off-the-shelf analytic tools.
Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Demonstrated experience working with global teams.
