Position Summary
DESCRIPTION
Housed within the Eli Broad College of Business, Executive Development Programs (EDP) is the outreach department responsible for design, development, delivery and evaluation of renowned educational programs aimed at managers and executives at companies located in Michigan, other parts of the United States and globally. EDP is responsible for aligning faculty knowledge, academic research and expertise with market demands from industry for continuing executive education to deliver results. The Specialist-Outreach, Assistant Director of Open-Enrollment Programs, will be responsible for establishing, developing and maintaining new faculty programs that can meet customer requirements and be delivered profitably.
This role requires a self-starter able to bring together clients, academic directors, faculty and others in sustainable collaborative relationships that will develop both revenue and value. This role requires an individual who has experience in academic institutions, corporate learning, program and content development, mission deployment, quality assurance and control, financial budgeting and sales. The successful appointee will be a team player able to assist with other aspects of EDP services as and when required. In order to interact with business leaders, line management decision-makers and human resource professionals, the Assistant Director must demonstrate vision, maturity, business acumen, multi-cultural awareness and relationship management skills to promote the Broad College in a manner that generate credibility, capability and trust. It will be necessary to balance competing demand and priorities of different constituent groups to develop a comprehensive and cohesive face to clients. This position will report directly to the Assistant Dean for Outreach & Engagement as part of a small team to help plan, develop and deliver EDP programs at both long-term, strategic and shorter-term, tactical levels
Tasks, Skills and Knowledge Requirements

- Develop ideas and carry them through to delivery, review and repeat delivery of programs.
- Manage projects with adequate records, checks, controls and balances to protect every interest.
- Demonstrate experience in new business development while managing existing business relationships.
- Track record of successful executive educational design and delivery.
- Demonstrate excellent organizational, communication and relationship management skills.
- Act professional and make sound business judgment, even under stress.
- Capable of peer interaction with business leaders and educators.
- Political acumen to react with sensitivity to diverse expectations from business executives, faculty and staff while delivering customer and client satisfaction and service excellence.
- Financial acumen to develop and manage budgets.
- Willingness to travel.

Minimum Requirements
A Master''s degree. Other degree requirements: A mix of education and experience may be acceptable.
Qualifications other than degree: Experience - preferably a minimum of 2-5 years'' relevant, progressive experience in executive/adult education at a leading university.
