Role Summary:In this key role, as the Senior Product Manager, for GE Aviation's robust avionics business, you will be the primary customer interface to manage the development and fielding of our Military Stores Management product offerings.
Essential Responsibilities:
In particular, as the Senior Product Manager, key responsibilities will include:
Serve as a Program Manager in the Stores Management System (SMS) product area
Lead and are accountable for execution across a matrixed organization to ensure program cost, schedule and technical / contractual requirements are met for our customers and company
Creatively grow the assigned program by working closely with the customer(s) and internal stakeholders
Manage day-to-day program activities through coordination of efforts by Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Sourcing, and Contracts to achieve program objectives
Present project plans, business forecasts, risks and recommendations to senior business leaders (EB and SEB) within the technical space and occasionally to senior leaders
Manage customer relationship by serving as the focal point for customer communication
Ensure, within reasonable business constraints, that program meets or exceeds customer's cost, schedule, and technical requirements
Ensure that all program activities are executed in accordance with established processes and procedures
Lead proposal development within your product areas
Negotiate price, scope, terms / conditions and schedule of the contract
Develop and maintain revenue forecasts which serve as the basis for the strategic plan for the business unit
Qualifications/Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in a technical field from an accredited university or college
Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Program Manager, Project Manager or Product Manager for airplane applications
Desired Characteristics:
Deep experience as a Product Manager for military aircraft applications
Electrical engineer with familiarity in avionics hardware
Strong oral and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
Independent, self-starter that can proactively manage a variety of external and internal stakeholders and achieve business growth
Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems
Demonstrated ability to lead programs / projects
Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs
Established project management skills
Proven track record of being customer focused and experienced in communicating clearly and effectively through complicated negotiations and opposing viewpoints
Proficiency with project / program management tools, processes and earned value management
