This is a FULL TIME ROLE that pays $21.75

Job Summary
Provides day-to-day direction and guidance to assigned staff in addition to providing case management and social work for children and families in accordance with all applicable contractual and regulatory requirements and accreditation standards.
Duties and Responsibilities
Assume primary responsibility for intake and initial placement services for all newly referred cases. Coordinate with Supervisor to process intakes and assignment of new cases to staff. Provide supportive casework services to child, birth family and foster family during initial placement and replacement.
Provide a range of case management, including social casework, counseling and treatment of clients, and community referral. Provide assistance and consultation on complex and difficult cases as requested.
Provide day-to-day direction and guidance to assigned staff ensuring agency service provision to clients and referral sources required by the contract funding bodies.
Coordinate placement arrangements with foster parents and Home Providers, including transportation of children as needed.
Assist in the maintenance of information and data management systems by providing information and statistical reports as required.
Review, correct, and assist in the writing of all social work reports, treatment plans and correspondence. Audit case records at least quarterly to ensure completeness and compliance with prescribed service and contract standards. Collect, assess and document appropriate data and client progress.
Prepare for supervisory conferences; provide documented assurance that all assigned cases are being handled according to treatment plan.
Work collaboratively with referral sources, agencies, institutions, and individuals who have important roles in client's life situation.
Engage in social interaction and education oriented toward improvement of services to clients.
Attend all scheduled court hearings on assigned caseload.
Job Qualifications
Education, Training, and Licensure/Certification
Bachelor degree in a human behavioral science field and four years' experience as a social service worker, three years of which shall have been in a child welfare agency, a child caring institution, or an agency performing a child welfare function. Or
Master's degree in a human behavioral science field with three years as a social service worker in a child welfare agency, a child caring institution, or an agency performing a child welfare function;
Licensed by the State of Michigan as a social worker preferred.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of state and local human service systems and resources, particularly as they apply to child and family services; human growth, development, and social environments with respect to child development, personality, family life, parenting, and ethnicity; and ability to employ social brokering, advocating, and mobilizing individuals and groups.
Knowledge of counseling techniques with individuals, and groups.
Ability to operate with minimal direct supervision.
Ability to utilize assessment, problem identification, diagnostic and treatment techniques with staff, individuals, families, and groups.
Ability to work within complex social systems and coordinate resources as they apply to client and employee needs.
Ability to deal constructively and appropriately with client apathy, hostility, resistance, and anger.
Ability to work in team relationships with other professionals from varied community groups, agencies, and disciplines.
Ability to speak, read and write fluent English.
Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.
