We are looking for a motivated, experienced candidate to lead the electrical circuit design group in developing designs for safety-critical automotive products. This position will be responsible for leading a diverse, global team in delivering high-quality work products including circuit designs, schematics, component selection, circuit DFMEAs, and content documentation. The ideal candidate is highly organized and is willing to accept electrical design responsibility for high-profile diverse automotive applications.
MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead all aspects of electrical hardware circuit and schematic activities, with main technical responsibilities including...
Electrical circuit design / analysis / review / verification
Schematic design / analysis / verification
Circuit-level FMEAs (circuit-level effects)
Component specifications, selection, and development
Definition and development of components to support future roadmap
In-Circuit Test on circuit card assemblies at Nexteer suppliers
Final Function Test on circuit card assemblies at Nexteer suppliers
Lead recruitment, interviewing, and selection of new employees
Lead and mentor the group members
Lead and mentor in-region electrical hardware teams (China, Poland)
Track program timelines and status of electrical hardware process milestones
Develop, maintain, and follow electrical hardware processes
Develop initiatives to improve group efficiency and quality
Support new-business pursuit activities - reviews, controller content, schematics
Support matched-pair meetings (mechanical, purchasing, supplier quality, etc)
Support circuit-level FMEA reviews (system-level effects)
Support EPDT organization - reviews, schedules, change requests, hardware anomaly resolution, failure analysis activities, etc
Support safety group -- safety analyses, reviews, new initiatives
Support cost-down activities
Support current production teams -- warranty reviews, failure analysis, running changes
REQUIRED SKILLS:
Minimum10 years of experience in electronics design and development, including 2 years in a supervisory role.
Firm understanding of hardware development cycle, from concept to production
Experience with microcontrollers, analog circuits, digital circuits, power circuits, vehicle networks, sensors
In-depth understanding of the design, development, construction, and characteristics of electrical components
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint
Must be able to sit and stand for extended periods of time
Must be able to look at a computer screen or monitor for extended periods of time
Must be able to utilize hands to work with intricate or small parts
PREFERRED SKILLS:
Automotive electronics leadership experience
Microcontroller experience in safety-critical applications
Motor control experience (Brush and 3-Phase Brushless)
Hardware development experience using ISO 26262
EDUCATION:
Required: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical and Computer
Engineering
Preferred: Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical and Computer
Engineering.
