Job Description
ZF currently has an opening for a Project Systems Manager (PSM) within the Brake Engineering group of Division A, Systems Engineering and Requirements, Controlled Braking Systems.
The role of the PSM is responsible for the application development of the Brake Control Systems. It is a project lead role that interacts closely with the different component development teams, the Engineering Project Manager (EPM), and the customer. The PSM identifies the work packages on the system level of application projects and defines the scope of change and then plans the content of the staged system deliveries. In terms of Automotive Spice, the PSM is responsible for the SYS.2 and SYS.3 work products, support of SYS.1 BP1, BP2, and BP3, provides the system release, and supports the EPM in MAN.5.
Primary Responsibilities:
Main technical customer contact for all system topics
Run projects to the ASPICE compliant process
Requirements elicitation / execution of system level requirements
Analyze and negotiate customer system requirements
Coordinate system development across the involved engineering departments
Tailoring of the core product, architecture, and requirements to the application project
Release of the system to production
Identify system level issues and risks on a project and report / elevate these to SE management and the EPM
Support the Quality Department in investigations of field returns
Requirements:
Minimum of bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, mechatronic, or systems engineering or related field, master's degree preferred
Minimum of 5-10 years of automotive product engineering experience preferred, working in product development preferred with a preferred focus on vehicle braking systems
Experience writing formal product requirements and/or architectural work products
Good understanding of the 'V' cycle and traceability
Familiar with CAN and vehicle networking architectures preferred
Familiar with OEM component design and release for vehicle mechatronic and control systems or related embedded controller electromechanical systems
Experience/knowledge of mechatronic principles, fluid power/hydraulic systems, and pneumatic systems
Desirable:
Experience with Rational DOORS and/or Rhapsody
Experience coordinating work from multiple disciplines
Willingness to working in an international environment
Knowledge of ISO26262 and Automotive SPICE
Interest in occasional international travel (<5%)
