Job Summary:
CEVA Logistics is currently hiring a Supply Chain Operations Planner located in Detroit, MI. In this role, the Operations Planner will perform onsite operational planning for our customer's international transportation network; optimizing the shipment mode and service levels for inbound demand to manufacturing plants or logistics centers primarily moving via ocean freight transportation. This role will partner daily with internal and external stakeholders to meet the needs and requirements of our customer's supply chain objectives through leveraging industry knowledge covering these primary areas: demand forecasting, carrier and service cost analysis, and supply chain savings analysis.
In this high-visibility position, the Supply Chain Operations Planner will:
•Manage customer order demand to ensure accurate assignment of optimal shipment mode and service level to meet customer cost and service level objectives and weekly communicate the operating plan to carriers and logistics service providers utilizing company or customer provided planning tools
•Manage and maintain carrier, supplier, customer location, part master, conveyance type, constraint, and tariff database information
•Perform root cause analysis for over / under cubed routes, unrated shipments, and other issues impeding generation of a complete operating plan
•Perform tactical level routing analysis and provide input to support cost and service improvement business cases
•Prepare, complete and secure business case approval from customer
•Maintain impact database to track status of business cases
Education and Experience:
•Equivalent of a Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Industrial Engineering or Supply Chain Management with a Master's degree preferred
•Over 3 years with supply chain optimization and modelling tools
•Good understanding of supply chain modelling and supply chain design as well as supply chain solutions engineering with experience supporting or working for an automotive and/or industrial OEM
•Strong affinity with IT systems and data
•In-depth understanding intercontinental supply chain networks
•Lean or Six Sigma certification desired
Additional Skills and Experience that Contribute to Success:
•Experience with OTM or similar TMS platform in intercontinental settings
•Expert level proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Access, Word and PowerPoint)
•Above average communication skills at various levels (written and verbal)
•Excellent report writing, data mining and data summarising skills
•Strong analytical, problem solving and project management skills
•Able to prioritise a highly variable workload and in all global cultures
•Fluent in English (written and verbal), other languages an asset
•Profound understanding of supply chain modelling and supply chain design as well as supply chain solutions engineering.
•Strong affinity with IT systems and the related impact/benefits to solution design
•In-depth understanding of complex supply chain solutions and the deployment of value creating/generating solutions
•Out of the Box" thinker with strong analytical skills and a drive for continuous improvement
