Position Purpose:
Job Description Details:
POSITION SUMMARY: Under general supervision, provide Athletic Training services to student athletes under the direction of the team physician or by written referral from a physician and in accordance with State of Michigan Athletic Training Practice Act. Specifically, the management and provision of care of injuries to a physically active person as defined in the state practice act under the direction of a licensed team physician. This includes the rendering of emergency care, development of injury prevention programs and providing appropriate preventative measures for the physically active person. This also includes the assessment, management, treatment; rehabilitation and reconditioning of the physically active person whose conditions are within the professional preparation and education of a certified and licensed athletic trainer. These duties may be conducted at local schools, community events and/or within an outpatient rehabilitation clinic.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Current State of Michigan Athletic Trainer License required.
Basic computer skills.
Ability to work in a team environment.
Excellent customer service skills necessary to interact with patient/physicians to maintain and promote positive relationships.
Well-developed verbal and written communication skills to portray a professional customer image.
Ability to work independently in a fast paced environment.
Ability to problem solve effectively based on established policies and procedures.
