Job Basics
We are looking for a Design Engineer to join the Engineering team in providing high quality designs for fluid application systems used by customers around the globe. Work includes researching and developing ideas and processes for new products, as well as improving upon the performance and design of existing products.
What would you do?
The Design Engineer is primarily responsible for the development or improvement of actual products or designs. The work involves conceptualizing, selecting suitable components or materials, designing for manufacturability, developing prototypes, testing, and perfecting designs. Additionally, the work may also include responding to a customer request for a particular product or design. Other key job aspects include:
- Applying sound engineering practices, and drawing solutions from both formal training and prior experience
- Generating and maintaining drawings, user manuals, and other technical information as needed
- Providing work direction to technicians and less experienced engineers
- Fulfilling other duties as assigned
Do you have what it takes? You must be:
- A degreed engineer (B.S. in Engineering) with at least 2 years of engineering experience
- Able to learn and understand how Unist equipment is used the metal cutting and metal forming markets
- Comfortable selecting and designing pneumatic and hydraulic systems
- Extremely well organized and self-motivated
- Willing to accept constructive criticism and adapt accordingly
- Able to effectively manage multiple projects at one time
- Able to clearly communicate with colleagues and outside customers
- A good team player able to work well with others
- Skilled in SolidWorks and MS Office. Experience with industrial controls, LabView, Exact Synergy, Exact Progression, and Crystal Reports are a plus
A willingness to learn, work hard and think critically is the most important qualification. A strong sense of personal responsibility and high integrity is also required!
