Under a minimum of supervision, interacts with customers, engineers, and manufacturer’s representatives to troubleshoot, fix, and repair defective or damaged equipment. Diagnosing of problems and directing corrective actions will be coordinated with customers, suppliers and manufacturers
SPECIFIC DUTIES
Reviews and interprets all incoming requests for service pertaining to start-up of new equipment, equipment failures, product defects, and diagnosing equipment problems in a timely fashion.
Solicits assistance from co-workers and DCL agents in order to proceed with corrective actions
Provides sketches/drawings to suit the customer’s need and seek to stay within normal design when possible. Checks with engineering for approval of special designs.
Maintains efficient records/logs of all service related issues.
Regular travel to customer sites, domestic or international. Supervise and coordinate customer install, repair and maintenance.
Submits trip report summary for all field service trips, including detailed situational and financial aspects.
Enters orders for billable field service time and parts.
Actively pursues complete customer satisfaction with DCL systems and components.
Assists in development of new products and accessories.
Working knowledge of all of the facets of DCL’s parts department, including but not limited to; order entry, processing orders, quoting and the ability to fill in as needed or assist as time permits.
SKILL REQUIREMENTS
Requires judgment in selecting and applying standard technical procedures and criteria.
Ability to interpret blueprints and engineering drawings; ability to navigate CAD drawings for review.
Knowledge and ability to use various MS office applications, including Word and Excel.
Mechanical aptitude, knowledge of electrical controls, a plus.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Standing for long periods on concrete or other hard surfaces; walking over rough or uneven terrain.
Sitting and/or driving a vehicle for long periods.
Frequent kneeling, bending, squatting and climbing.
Frequent use of ladders and steps for accessing equipment or working on high structures.
Frequent lifting up to 50 pounds with or without assistance.
Frequent use of hands for grasping, pulling, manipulating tools/objects, and writing/typing.
Frequent exposure to all outdoor weather conditions.
Exposure to potentially hazardous environments, including mine sites, constructions sites, & heavy industrial sites.
