Quality Engineer I/II
Under general supervision, monitors, analyzes, tracks and disseminates quality performance indices to appropriate areas throughout organization. Analyzes and participates in testing activities related to returned or rejected components or parts. Travels to customer facilities to identify, investigate and resolve quality issues. Coordinates and participates in consensus meetings to identify, address and resolve quality related issues. Negotiates non-DENSO responsible quality issues with the customer. Performs New Product Implementation activities, as assigned.
Essential Responsibilities:
Monitors, analyzes, tracks and disseminates quality performance indices to appropriate areas throughout organization. (DNJP, Plants, DIAM Engineering, DIAM Sales, DIAM Logistics, etc.)
Interacts with, builds and maintains networks with customers and stakeholders, including DIAM Sales and Marketing, DIAM Engineering, DNJP and Plant personnel.
Participates in testing and related activities to determine failure mode and identify root cause of problem. May propose appropriate countermeasure.
Travels to customer facilities to identify, investigate and resolve quality issues. Works with and coordinate customer and/or appropriate members within DENSO (Sales, Plant, Engineering) to address and resolve issues.
Coordinates and participates in consensus meetings with appropriate members internal and external to DENSO to identify, address and provide resolution to quality related issues.
Negotiates non-DENSO responsible quality issues (i.e., dropped parts) with the customer to ensure problem and related issues (i.e., accurate quality record, financial refund, etc.) are resolved. Negotiates special requests with the customer (e.g., test plan, test vehicle, test chamber, special event, etc.) as needed.
Supports special requests and/or projects at department level, as needed.
Consults higher-level engineer and/or Manager on moderately complex issues. Prioritizes own workload, adheres to urgency or providing information and seeks advice when necessary.
Analyzes current processes and identifies activities to improve efficiency, effectiveness and exceed customer expectations. Makes recommendations to management. Implements approved changes. (for own group)
Completes appropriate paperwork and follows documentation processes in order to summarize issues.
Adheres to and complies with Organizational, Divisional and Departmental policies and procedures. Works towards the attainment goals and objectives. Maintains confidentiality.
May provide on-the-job training to lower level colleagues.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Ensures compliance with general organization-wide and department-specific ISO/TS 16949 requirements.
Participates in and supports environmental ISO 14001 and safety activities by developing supporting goals and objectives, attending required training, complying with established procedures and initiating and implementing corrective actions, as needed.
