Job Description Summary
Dr. Lei Pan's research group at Michigan Technological University invites applications for a postdoctoral associate position. The successful candidate will conduct research in the area of particle characterization and separation and related applications.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned)
Responsibilities include performing wet experiments, writing proposals, writing manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed journals, presenting research results at conferences, supervising graduate and undergraduate research, creating Standard Operating Procedures, and adhering to applicable safety protocols. Also, commit to learning about continuous improvement strategies and applying them to everyday work.
Required Education, Certifications, Licensures (minimum requirements)
Ph.D. in chemical engineering, metallurgical engineering, mining engineering, mechanical engineering, or a closely related field.
Required Experience (minimum requirements)
Experience in various particle separation and characterization methods including SEM, XRD, particle size analysis, and others.
Desirable Education and/or Experience
Required Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities (minimum requirements)
Excellent oral and written communication and English language skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Experience with technical writing, especially with publishing research findings in peer-reviewed English-language journals.
Demonstrated ability to deliver technical information to peer audiences in spoken or written English.
Demonstrated ability to work with group members in a team.

The work environment is that of a typical office and/or classroom setting. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.
