Position Responsibilities: The DBTO Infrastructure Lead is responsible for the day-to-day activities within DBTO that are necessary to successfully implement the Next Generation Computing (NGC) /Infrastructure Optimization (IO) transformational programs. This role is for a technical expert that works across multiple disciplines within the department. Technical Recommendation: * Responsible for formulating recommendations based on analysis of information for large to enterprise size projects and/or operations with moderate to high complexity across a functional area. * Provide input and/or make recommendations into high complexity production and/or operational decisions. * The position is accountable for the integrity and completeness of all systems documentation, procedures and standards within Network Services. * Direct and/or indirect management responsibility for large to enterprise size projects with high complexity across a functional area. * Ability to make functional unit decisions on behalf of manager represented. * Demonstrate the ability to lead a team through the analysis, design, development, successful implementation and evaluation of a given project. * Provide input, where appropriate, for performance appraisal of junior staff in accordance with department criteria and procedures. * Demonstrate the ability to establish a course of action for self and /or others to accomplish specific goals; plan appropriate personnel and allocate resources. * Accomplish priority tasks with minimal supervision. Achieve objectives without sacrificing quality standards; drive issues to closure. Engineering Leadership: Planning & Organizing: * Responsible for providing input to the development of a tactical plan within a functional area. * Responsible for development and/or deployment of large to enterprise size project plans and/or operations with high complexity across a functional area and provide input into project plans across a functional area. * Responsible for explaining project variances. * Perform thorough follow up to ensure projects meet expectations of clients and department. Survey clients for satisfaction and complete data on projects. * Develop short and long term plans that are realistic and effective. * Maintain effectiveness in various environments with different tasks, responsibilities, and people (styles and backgrounds); able to adjust to multiple demands, shifting priorities and rapid change; able to handle adversity and maintain effectiveness. Risk Management * Ensures adherence to all government, corporate and department standards, policies and procedures in all technical artifacts, tasks and decisions across the technical team. Works in concert with overall project manager to ensure all artifacts adhere to all standards, policies and procedures * Proactively manages project risks and risk mitigation plans Travel Travel is required of this position up to 10% of time. Relocation Relocation is not available for this position. Bachelor's Degree and 10 years of Information Technology Experience or High School Diploma or GED and 14 years of Information Technology Experience. 5 years experience performing 3rd Level problem determination; resolve highly complex problems; Candidates must have experience in migration of applications from enterprise premise (mainframe) environments to cloud environment 8 years experience in creating a strategic technology direction/architecture required 5 years experience working in a lead role on strategic, high visibility projects 8 years network engineering experience Current advanced knowledge of Network Topology, including a thorough knowledge of Netware, MS, and network design tools preferred 8 years project management experience Equal Opportunity Employer Minorities/Women/Protected Veterans/Disabled
