Position Summary
The Shah Lab (thermbio.org) at W.K. Kellogg Biological Station (KBS), a premier field station for Michigan State University, is seeking to fill a postdoctoral Research Associate position. This position will be focusing on questions surrounding insect thermal physiology, trophic cascades, and climate change. The primary responsibilities associated with this position include coordinating and lead lab research activities, analyzing data, and writing manuscripts. The successful candidate will have opportunities at Michigan State University to interact with the scientific community at KBS as well as in the department of Integrative Biology at MSU.
The position is for one year initially, renewable depending on performance and continued funding availability. Preferred start date is August, 2022. Successful candidate will also be strongly encouraged to apply for external funding from sources such as NSF and USDA.

Required Degree
Doctorate -Ecological Physiology, Insect Biology or a related field
Minimum Requirements
PhD in ecological physiology, insect biology or a related field
Desired Qualifications
Desired qualifications include experience with thermophysioloy experiments on insects, a proven publication track record, and good interpersonal and communication skills. The ideal candidate would also have a desire to mentor undergraduate and graduate students. In addition, the candidate should have a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion practices.
