We are looking for a self motivated Legal assistant to ensure smooth running of the office and effective case management. You will provide a broad spectrum of legal services under the supervision of an attorney.
Responsibilities
- Provide administrative support to lawyer and enhance office effectiveness
- Client Scheduling and Consults
- Work with other offices when scheduling (courts and attorneys)
- Handle communication with clients, witnesses etc.
- Type up and file basic legal documents and correspondence
- Answer and direct phone calls and walk ins
- Maintain contact lists and client mailings
- Monitor deadlines and calendars
- Any other duties as assigned by Attorneys
- When needed go to the courthouse for filing documents and support clients when needed.
Skills
- Proven working experience as legal assistant or legal secretary
- Familiarity with law, legal procedures and protocols, and court system
- Satisfactory knowledge of day-to-day operations of a legal office
- Computer Skills Microsoft word and QuickBooks
- Typing to include, letters, emails, client mailings, court pleadings, court documents, and any other typing as needed.
- Working knowledge of case management software
- Excellent secretarial and organizational skills
- Ability to juggle multiple activities and work under pressure
- Must be professional and possess strong organizational and clerical skills.
- Ability to work independently and be self-motivated, and assuming responsibility without supervision or direction
Hours
Monday- Thursday 8:30a.m.to 4:30 p.m.
Friday 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Holidays off and paid time off.
