The Auto Club Group (ACG) provides membership, travel, insurance and financial services offerings to approximately 9 million members and customers across 11 states and 2 U.S. territories through the AAA, Meemic and Fremont brands. Primary Duties and Responsibilities (details of the basic job functions):
Provides support in functional areas of HR including, but not limited to recruitment and employment, employee relations, compensation, benefit administration and special projects. Acts as a liaison between intra-departmental and inter-departmental personnel to investigate inquiries, obtain accurate policy interpretation, and refer employees to content specialists.
Monitors the implementation and administration of various corporate HR programs for assigned location. Assures compliance with state and federal legislation. Implements and administers major enhancements and/or revisions to the employee benefits programs. Notifies management personnel regarding issues and concerns relative to HR functions. Develops, coordinates and presents informational programs to employee groups and retirees. Researches and develops improved methods of services and communication for employees.
Assists in the installation and testing of PeopleSoft hardware and software upgrades as requested.
Develops spreadsheets and other relevant information for usage at presentations to departments, senior management, board of directors and others as directed by Human Resource management.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with:
- Utilizing Human Resources PeopleSoft applications
Knowledge of:
- ACG Human Resource policies and procedures
Work Environment
Works in a temperature controlled office environment. Occasional travel (less than 10% of work time) required with exposure to road hazards and temperature extremes.
Required Qualifications (these are the minimum requirements to qualify):
College coursework in Business Administration or a related field. Bachelor's degree preferred.
Extensive experience in a personnel related function such as:
Compensation
Employment
Employee relations
Employee benefits
Employee services
Business system support
Experience in:
Coordinating and controlling major projects
Development of policies, procedures and guidelines
Decision making
Administration of benefit programs
Resolution of benefit coverage issues/complaints
Governmental regulations pertaining to employee benefits and/or governmental benefits related to illness/injury or disability claims
Utilizing software applications (e.g. Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Access, etc.)
Knowledge of:
Basic statistical analysis
Equal pay act
Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964
Statistical report preparation
Pension, group insurance plans and/or disability claims administration
Employee selection procedures, performance appraisal methods, and federal guidelines
Ability to:

Interpret and apply human resource policies and employee benefit provisions
