Essential Functions: include but are not limited to. . .
- Oversee the intake and discharge of clients according to program guidelines
- Reset rooms for clients, assign sleeping arrangements and storage of personal items
- Monitor the activities of clients to ensure overall safety of clients, volunteers, and staff
- Mediate client conflicts to a satisfactory conclusion
- Perform daily room checks and frequent contraband checks
- Complete agency logs and incident reports in a timely manner, and perform general administrative functions
- Provide consistent coverage for assigned shifts, working within the team and independently to complete all shift tasks.
- Provide immediate and professional response to any security concern, medical emergency, safety emergency or disturbance within or outside the facility.
- Maintain order and assist in keeping all areas clean and free of safety hazards
- Monitor daily activities and chores
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Minimum High School Diploma or GED required -College education is helpful
- Past experience working with mental illness and substance abuse through Human Services, group homes, corrections, or law enforcement is very helpful
- Ability to maintain clear personal and professional boundaries
- Ability to demonstrate compassion, sensitivity, and to respect the privacy and special needs of our clients
- Must maintain a high regard for confidentiality in all aspects of the work environment
- Ability to respond confidently in emergency and crisis situations
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Must possess a high degree of common sense and be prompt and dependable
- Ability to communicate well both orally and in writing
- Pass a criminal background check
Physical Demands / Work Environment:
- Occasional local driving and travel may be required
- Ability to lift 25 lbs, climb stairs, sit, stand, bend, reach and perform cleaning duties
